About Me

Since qualifying as a primary school teacher in 2000, I have worked in a wide variety of state and independent schools in England. I have always felt incredibly passionate about inspiring children through fun, multisensory and engaging activities that maximise opportunities for accelerated progress, remove barriers to learning and improve children’s self-esteem.

Extensive knowledge of the expectations for Mathematics and English

Having taught all year groups between reception and year eight, I have extensive knowledge of the expectations for Mathematics and English at each level within key stages one, two and three. As Head of Maths in a successful primary school, I led many different initiatives that resulted in children making huge leaps in attainment, confidence and enthusiasm. As SENDCo in a busy, reputable prep school, I was responsible for ensuring that every child had the right level of support, for their individual needs, across the curriculum. It was incredibly rewarding to see children believe in themselves and reach their full potential when the appropriate intervention, adjustments and approaches were put in place for them.

Qualified Maths Specialist and Specialist Teacher

Qualifying as a Maths Specialist and a Specialist Teacher for learners with literacy-related difficulties (such as dyslexia) has allowed me to utilise and advance my strengths, knowledge and skills to a level that has resulted in children achieving targets that have been life-changing for them. When I was Acting Deputy Head and Head of Key Stage Two, I gained considerable experience in managing the challenges associated with ensuring that every child has the best possible learning experiences throughout their school journey. It is so important that every child’s individuality is recognised so that opportunities for learning can cater for their specific needs, interests and learning styles. Being able to give children specialist support, which is totally tailored to their individual needs and goals, means that they have the best possible chance of achieving their true potential.

Testimonial

‘I love the games that we play at the start and the end of the session. They make me feel energised and ready for the lesson. The lessons are fun and interactive! The seats are so comfy and it’s a colourful, cosy and chilled classroom (feels like a playroom). Louise always listens to me’
